Data Deletion Instructions
You can request deletion of your CustomerGrip data at any time. Below are two methods, what is affected, how we verify your identity, and what to expect from third-party providers.
Two ways to request deletion
Method 1 — From your account
If you can still sign in to CustomerGrip, you can request deletion directly from your account:
- Sign in with your business owner account.
- Open Settings and go to the Account or Security section.
- Choose Request account deletion and follow the prompts.
- Save the reference number you receive — you can use it to track your request.
If you do not see this option in your account, use Method 2.
Method 2 — Without account access
If you cannot sign in — for example, because you forgot your credentials, lost access to your email, or are an individual whose data was entered by a business — submit a public deletion request:
- Open the Data Deletion Request form.
- Choose the request type that best describes what you want deleted.
- Provide your name, email, mobile (optional) and a description of the data to be deleted.
- Confirm the declaration and submit. You will receive a reference number immediately.
What data is affected
A full account deletion removes the following categories of data stored in CustomerGrip for your business:
For partial deletion (for example removing a single customer or disconnecting WhatsApp), submit a request and choose the relevant request type. We will only act on the data you specify.
Verification requirements
To protect your data, we verify the identity of every requester before performing deletion. Verification typically involves:
- Matching the email and mobile number against the records we hold for the account.
- For business account deletion, confirming the requester is the registered owner or an authorised representative.
- For individual customer data deletion, contacting the business that owns the customer record to validate the request where required.
- Requesting additional information (such as a government-issued ID or proof of business ownership) where we cannot otherwise verify identity.
You can track your request at any time using your reference number on the public status page.
Retention exceptions
We delete data promptly after verification, but certain records may be retained for a limited period where required:
- Records required to comply with a legal, tax or regulatory obligation.
- Records relevant to an ongoing dispute or investigation.
- Aggregated, de-identified data that can no longer be linked to you or your customers.
- Backup copies that are retained for a limited period as part of routine disaster recovery, after which they are overwritten.
Note on third-party providers
Supabase is our database and authentication provider. CustomerGrip-initiated deletions are reflected in Supabase as the source of truth for our application data.
Vercel hosts the CustomerGrip web application. It retains only request metadata and server logs necessary to operate and secure the Service, which we purge on the same schedule as CustomerGrip retention.
Meta / WhatsApp maintains its own records of your WhatsApp Business account, templates and message metadata under Meta's data and retention policies. CustomerGrip cannot delete data held by Meta. To request deletion of data held by Meta, contact Meta directly or use the data deletion controls in your Meta Business account.
Payment providers retain transaction records for accounting and regulatory reasons. CustomerGrip cannot delete records held by these providers.
